The Tree Museum
2000 Woodcut with hand coloring
22" x 30"
Edition: 10
|
Copyright © Maria Arango, 2000
Block: Birch Plywood
Ink: Oil based, copper,
process colors, and black
Paper: Mangani Incisione White
Process: Reduction print with hand coloring. I confess I messed
up the registration so badly on the first couple of prints that I opted
for hand coloring on the remaining 10 to salvage the edition.
Image: There is a Joni Mitchell song (thanks Mike Lyon for the correction!); I remember Sonny and Cher singing it. "Don't
know what you have 'til it's gone" has a verse that goes something
like this:
"They took all the trees
and put them in a tree museum,
and charged all the people
a dollar and a half just to see'um."
You will receive the print unmatted/unframed. After purchasing the print
