Letting Go
Pen and Ink on Clayboard
10"x8"

Copyright © Maria Arango, 1999

Paper:     Claybord, a clay surface on hardboard blackened with ink
Process:  Drawing is scratched with various tools and inked with pen and ink
Image:     It was tough to let go of art education a while back, and head into the corporate world. I represented the transition with a transformation into a rat and the plunge into the darkness, grudgingly leaving the safe hand of the art world.
