While traveling I often encounter these magical crossroads where road, river and railroad track meet...only to diverge again and each take a much different path but often to the same destination.
Occurred to me that life and people are much like the road, the river and the railroad track. Some enjoy the comfort and predictability of the rail cars, some like the adventure and unknown risk of the river raft, yet others are somewhere in the middle and prefer the control and variety of beauty in a nice road trip.
Sometimes all you have on the road and in life are those precious moments where paths cross and the only game is to enjoy every single tick of the clock as if it were the last. Don't you miss those moments by being too self absorbed! Live and love like there's no tomorrow. Aaah if we could only make those magic moments last just a little bit longer...

Process: Woodcuts and wood engravings are made by drawing an image on a block of wood, usually cherry in my case, then carving out the negative spaces. After carving, what is left is a big "stamp" of the desired image. I roll ink with a roller over the woodcut, place a piece of handmade paper on the inked block, apply pressure and transfer the image on the paper.
