Edition 20
Block: Cherry plywood
Ink: Oil Based Rembrandt Copper Gold Process Yellow Black
Paper: Arches 88
Process: Standard three block print
Image: My academic friends call my art "Outsider" art. The term irritated me until I made this print. Who's having fun now? Years later I pride myself in being outside the closed knit circles that choke creativity. Too many rules bad for artists!
The vessel series was all about the private worlds that we all build around us with things that are comfortable to us and perhaps alien to others.
Process: Woodcuts are made by drawing an image on a block of wood, usually cherry in my case, then carving out the negative spaces. After carving, what is left is a big "stamp" of the desired image. I roll ink with a roller over the woodcut, place a piece of handmade paper on the inked block, apply pressure and transfer the image on the paper. Signed Numbered Woodcut Limited edition Figures Surrealism 12 to 36 in
